Madam Dam has been serving up her vegetarian buffet down this alley for a long time. She’s the star at her friendly family run eatery. It’s a casual and inexpensive lunch or dinner stop (I spent 40K VND on solid meals on recent visits). Many travelling vegetarians and vegans rate Madam's Dam's as the best stop in town. Hard to beat the value for money proposition. The noodle or rice based dishes are pre-cooked and served from a buffet counter. Diners are a mix of locals and travellers - the local following's always reassuring. Madam Dam’s operation is plastic free - another bonus. The alley’s pretty cool too. Check Le Fe cafe opposite after lunch.

Rusty Compass listings are always independent. We list the places we think are worth knowing about. Our Featured Listings allow a small selection of businesses already recommended by us, to pay a fee for a place at the top of our list. That’s it. Featured Listings have no impact on reviews, or on the curation and independence of our lists.
