On the eastern bank of the Sangker River looking across to Battambang's colonial era downtown area. A short walk to the restaurants and architecture of the town centre.

Review

La Villa is the pick of Battambang's accommodations for those seeking out some colonial ambience downtown. The villa's lovely, the staff are good and the restaurant and pool top things off nicely.

Built in the 1930s, the hotel's history says the building was locally owned until Battambang fell to the Khmer Rouge in 1975.

In 2004, with new owners, renovations began from which today's 7 room guest-house was created with many original features.

While the standard rooms are nicely done, this is one of those places where it makes sense to spend a little extra, spoil yourself and go for one of the two enormous suite rooms - if they're available.

Book early.
