    Introduction

This is a gallery of images from a walk last week along the Saigon riverfront. It's one of the most accommodating walks in the city - free of motorbikes and relatively uncluttered and uncrowded. I highly recommend spending some time on the riverfront - either early in the morning or late in the afternoon. It provides an interesting perspective on the changing city. There's lots of history,  plenty of action on the river. Allow around an hour for a casual walk with stops - checking out the historic landmarks along the way. You may want to pull up a seat and gaze at the river. Check our see and do pages for a detailed itinerary listing the main landmarks.

Rusty Compass listings are always independent. We list the places we think are worth knowing about. Our Featured Listings allow a small selection of businesses already recommended by us, to pay a fee for a place at the top of our list. That’s it. Featured Listings have no impact on reviews, or on the curation and independence of our lists.
