Boi Tran Gallery

Boi Tran's art gallery, set amidst the picturesque Hue hills where the Nguyen Dynasty emperors built their tombs, houses a unique collection of art in a unique space.

Boi Tran’s work is a major part of the collection. She is also the proud owner of an impressive collection of Vietnamese art - including pieces from artists who are considered among the finest from the vibrant early to mid twentieth century art scene.

The gallery is set across three traditionally inspired pavilions in expansive gardens.

A dinner at Boi Tran's featured in Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown.

An appointment should be made before heading out to Boi Tran. If you're lucky you may get to meet the Boi Tran.

It’s easy to combine with a visit to nearby Khai Dinh’s tomb and other tombs.

New Space gallery

Two twins, Hai and Thanh have opened a small gallery and studio just outside Hue. They exhibit their own work, spanning lacquer, painting, installation and more. They’re also performance artists.

Thanh and Hai also have a couple of simple rooms available for visitors which may suit visiting artists or those with a special interest in art. They’re friendly hosts and very ready to have a chat if they’re around.

If you head out to New Space, take a wander in the surrounding countryside. There are some interesting old temples and buildings nearby.

It’s probably worth contacting them before you head out.

Their Le Loi St space is closed but still appears in some guides and maps.
