Review
ATC Con Dao Resort is a hotchpotch of structures the earliest of which date to French colonial times. Probably best to think of it as three distinct hotels.
Rates have shot up in recent years and range from around US$70 for simple, kitsch villas with seaviews to US$280 plus for a renovated French era villa apartment with 2 bedrooms a dining room and kitchen - suitable for a family or a group. The apartments are a good choice. They're comfortable, minimally decorated and they have a great old world atmosphere with balconies and bay views. Recent steep price increases mean they're no longer great value for money.
A new block opened in 2010 featuring villas with thatched roofing and a pool. Prices range from around US$65 to US$150.
Restaurant food is good though the service, while very friendly, is patchy. ATC is located right in the middle of town and overlooks the bay.
Prices at ATC villas seem somewhat hard to ascertain. If you call them you'll get better rates than they list on their website (I suspect this depends on the season). They also offer lower rates to Vietnamese travellers.
