Also known as Quan Pho Gia Truyen Bat Dan, this is one of those “best pho in Hanoi” places and a fixture in guidebooks for years. That's often often a deterrent. The good news is that even the locals are ready to line up for a bowl of the beef noodle soup - pho bo - from Pho Gia Truyen. They serve up variations of the pho bo at breakfast and in the evenings. They usually move the lines through quickly. If you’re here in the early evening, grab a glass of bia hoi, the local draft beer, before or after at bia hoi Bat Dan.

Rusty Compass listings are always independent. We list the places we think are worth knowing about. Our Featured Listings allow a small selection of businesses already recommended by us, to pay a fee for a place at the top of our list. That’s it. Featured Listings have no impact on reviews, or on the curation and independence of our lists.
