Created by the same people behind the Ancient House Resort near Hoi An Old Town the Coco River Resort has changed hands and name. The location by the river amidst lush rice paddies is its best and worst feature. It's a lovely escape but it's a little remote.

Location

By the Thu Bon River 3 kms from Hoi An town and 2 kms from Cua Dai beach. The rural setting amongst rice paddies by the river is stunning. Access to the city can be tricky if you miss the regular hotel shuttle. Many travellers rent their own motorbikes for flexibility. The cycling is also very nice here but a little less practical at night. A great location for a serious break but less ideal for those wanting easy access to Hoi An's restaurants, bars and sights.

Review

The Ancient House people created this resort as an out of town replica of their Ancient House Resort closer to Hoi An town. Since then, the name and owners have changed - but the look and feel are the same.

Design, ambience and people

The design of the resort is based loosely on the traditional houses of Hoi An town. The simple two story structures create a cosy feel and the room decorations are also simple and tasteful. Gardens are lush and the buildings are well spaced creating an an uncluttered green feel.

The rural riverside setting also adds a sense of escape and serenity that is missed in hotels closer to town.

Staff are very friendly and helpful.
