Review
For a while now it’s been possible to spend your entire time in Hoi An eating in the restaurants of Ms Vy - owner of Morning Glory, Vy’s Market, Cargo, Mermaid and more. Vy even offers cooking classes.
Hoi An’s most successful restaurateur has moved in to the hotel business with Maison Vy, a handsome little 40 room property, across four floors (there’s no lift) with a great feel.
Maison Vy features three room categories but there’s nothing wrong with the lead-in, standard category rooms. They’re the same size as superior rooms but look over the road. They also have a balcony and we didn't notice much noise coming in off the street.
Superior rooms are set back in the building. Deluxe rooms are slightly larger and some have views across the pool.
Unless stairs trouble you, I’d recommend an upstairs room for more privacy - even though ground floor rooms have a small garden and outdoor shower.
The pool area is nicely done as is the central courtyard - all giving Maison Vy a homely. welcoming feel. The staff are also terrific.
The hotel offers long staying guests breakfast at restaurants owned by Vy downtown.
If you’re thinking of staying in 2015, remember that Maison Vy is brand new - there may be some minor glitches. Recommended.

Rusty Compass listings are always independent. We list the things we think are worth knowing about. That’s it. We've listed Maison Vy since 2015 and stayed for the first time in 2017. No inducement of any kind was received to list Maison Vy.
