Location
Full Moon Resort is located on the stretch of beach impacted by erosion in recent years. It has lost its beach. It has good access to the bars and restaurants of the beach strip.
Review
Full Moon opened in the 1990s as a backpacker resort. It's moved a few notches up since then and it's now an excellent choice for travellers on a budget still looking for serene, green grounds and great views. It has a friendly and relaxed feel.
Its recent loss of beach is a great shame - swimmers now need to walk a hundred metres or so to enter the ocean.
To prevent further erosion, a concrete wall has been built on the shoreline.
Design, ambience and people:
Full Moon Resort's decor is simple and charming - if a little worn. The gardens are well established with bright tropical blooms in abundance. The pool in the central garden is a lovely spot - and an essential feature given the state of the beach.
The lead in rooms are pretty but lack natural light.
Top storey sea view rooms are on the expensive side but nicely done with loads of space, open plan bathrooms, balconies and delightful views.
Staff are friendly and speak good English.
Facilities brief: cable TV, bath tub, mini-bar, complementary daily fresh fruit in the rooms, free wifi throughout.
