Built in 1899 Vietnam's first lighthouse looks over a beautiful stretch of empty beach. With only the Princess D’Annam Resort and a few local restaurants, Ka Ga beach and its lighthouse can offer a nice change of pace from the Kite Surfing and jet skis of Mui Ne.
Tours operate from the multitude of tour shops in Mui Ne or you can hire a motorbike and make your own way. Get there early and you’ll also see the fishermen bringing in the morning catch. The lighthouse also looks most stunning in morning light.
If you come by independently, you can usually persuade a boatman to ferry you by coracle to the island where the lighthouse is perched. You might get a little wet so be careful with your camera.
Access to the lighthouse interior costs a dollar and the spiral stairs lead to a platform with fantastic views of the surrounding beach.
