If you want to break out of Mui Ne resort living, you can jump on a bicycle for the short ride to Ham Tien town for a taste of local life.

Mui Ne's tourist beach strip is a bubble of tourist restaurants and tourists. But a real taste of Vietnam is only a short bicycle ride away at Ham Tien.

There’s a picturesque fishing village that can be very pretty in the early mornings (if you ignore the mountains of plastic rubbish). There are lots of great characters around the harbour as well - and they’re mainly friendly. You can also try some good local food.

Ham Tien is a convenient stop on the way to the Red Sand dunes.

If you're feeling energetic, you can extend your cycle further along the coast.

Unfortunately, we were unable to locate any quality bicycles for hire in Mui Ne - so you'll have to content yourself with very basic equipment.
