Traditional Vietnamese dishes are getting a makeover with delicious results at Anan. Saigon's been waiting for someone to do something like this. Vietnamese American chef and founder Peter Cuong Franklin is the man who has made it happen. He brings decades of experience in international kitchens to his love of his native Vietnamese cuisine.
Cuong Franklin pioneering a "new" Vietnamese cuisine that is rooted in traditional ingredients and flavours while embracing some improvisation. Signature dishes include Dalat Pizza, Banh Xeo Taco and Foie Gras Imperial Rolls. Try it before you dismiss it as gimmickry - though the $100US banh mi is a stretch.
We’ve eaten here a few times now. On our most recent visit we shared a set menu. It was a very happy experience.
Set menus (there’s a vegetarian option) start at around 700K . Drinks are reasonably priced for the quality of the space. There's an a la carte menu too.
Anan, which means "eat eat" is packed most nights as far as we can tell, so it might be worth booking. After dinner, head up to rooftop for a cocktail.

Rusty Compass listings are always handpicked. We recommend the places we think you should know about - like a friend would. That's it. Not an algorithm in sight. We paid our way at Anan and no money changed hands for this listing. We photograph the places as we find them without lighting, production, setups or the involvement of the venue. The intention is to capture the places as they are.
