Xu's long been a favourite with Saigon's prettiest locals and expats. The city's evolving and there are lots of new places, so the crowd's changing, but Xu's still going strong. The lounge feel is confined to weeknights, or early evening on weekends. Things get especially busy before midnight on weekends . There's a friendly vibe with pretentiousness kept in reasonable check. No shorts. Prices are good for the setting - especially during happy hour, which runs till 8pm. Xu's cocktails maybe the best priced of the popular bars in District 1. DJs spin tunes on weekends. Prep the lungs for some serious passive smoking - even if you're an active smoker. The cloud of smoke here can be overpowering. There are non-smoking options available around town now too. Xu's located down Hai Ba Trung St towards the river from the Park Hyatt.

Rusty Compass listings are always independent. We list the places we think are worth knowing about. Our Featured Listings allow a small selection of businesses already recommended by us, to pay a fee for a place at the top of our list. That’s it. Featured Listings have no impact on reviews, or on the curation and independence of our lists.
