Review
A great option - a little outside the old town on the Cua Dai beach road with evocative traditional design, simple attractive room decor, lush gardens and great staff - loads of character.
Location
On the Cua Dai Beach Rd but much closer to the old town than the beach. Easy cycle ride, taxi ride or a 20 minute walk. You’ll need a bicycle or a cab for the beach.
Architecture, ambience and people
As the name suggests, Ancient Town Resort has gone to great lengths to capture the atmosphere of Hoi An’s old town. It could have been a disaster but we think it works. Rooms are spread across connected buildings in two story clay tile roofed Chinese style terraces.
Rooms are pleasantly simple in decoration with huge ceilings and ample space.
The grounds and pool area are green and spacious and include a small operational rice paper factory. Lobby, restaurant and bar areas are open and airy and staff are friendly and helpful.
The hotel rooms were renovated in 2017.
It's worth asking for a room with a balcony. Some of the rooms lack privacy if doors are open.
Facilities brief: Pool, wifi and cable internet, higher room categories have in room computer, satellite TV
