On Nha Trang's main beach at the southern the fringe of the town's sprawl. While Ana Mandara enjoys proximity to the attractions of the town including some very good eating options, it also suffers from some noise and pollution impacts from the town. A lot of effort has been made to mitigate these issues in the resort and few guests seem to notice.
Review
There's plenty to like about Ana Mandara Resort. Simple tastefully decorated low-rise bungalows, many right on the beach, get their breathing space from lush gardens dotted with lotus ponds.
Ambience, design, people
There's a cosiness to Ana Mandara that is at the heart of its appeal. This may have been the first international resort in town, but its low-rise design is still holding its own against a rush of new downtown high-rise hotels. This isn't one of those resorts where seeing signs of human life will represent a failure of design. And we like that. Yes, you will see your neighbours - at breakfast, by the pool and on the beach. But with two pools and ample common space, you won't feel crowded. All rooms are a comfortable size too.
The understated lobby and friendly efficiency of the staff add to the warm atmosphere.
Garden View rooms are set back from the beach on the road side of the property and guests have been to known to complain about street noise. Higher category rooms with views of the beach are strongly recommended.
The beach is an attractive deep blue most of the year, but like all of Nha Trang's bay area, it suffers from variable water cleanliness. After heavy rains, the bay turns a murky brown due to outflows from the nearby Cai River. It’s worth noting that Ana Mandara is quite a lot further from the river outflow than the other international hotels on the main beach. From a deckchair, the bay views are a delight.
